A Great Resource!
Home > Featured, Pastor's Blog > A Great Resource!I went to the library today. It’s a busy place.
It used to be that people went to the library to do research or to check out a book or to read the magazines. No one talked above a whisper, if you talked at all. Librarians enforced the quiet. Except for the squirming during the children’s story hour there wasn’t much that disturbed the peace.
Some people thought that the internet would make libraries obsolete. It hasn’t happened. You can go to the library now to use a computer. Research at the library no longer means hunting through the dusty archives. It’s all available at the keyboard. You can check out DVD’s along with books. Tutors mentor students at the tables. The library is still a well-used resource.
It reminded me of the library I have in the 66 books in my Bible. It used to be that many of us used mostly the King James Version. Now we can choose from any number of versions and paraphrases and interpretations. A lot has changed. But the Bible never lost its importance. It is still a source of inspiration, comfort, help and challenge. A Bible “library” is a great resource! How well used is yours?
Have you been to your library lately?
